We Build Assistant Project Managers (APM)

As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you’ll step into a role that plays a vital part in supporting the overall success of a construction project. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll help manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring that tasks are completed on time, within budget, and according to plan. Your role bridges communication between the office and the field, making you a key player in keeping the project organized and running efficiently. This position is crucial for gaining experience and preparing for future leadership roles in project management.

Employer-Recommended Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (construction or related field)
  • College internship recommended

Core Responsibilities:


  • Assist in managing project schedules, tracking progress, and updating timelines.
  • Monitor project costs and help maintain the project budget.
  • Coordinate communication between the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Organize and manage project documentation, including contracts, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Assist in resolving project issues and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and support collaboration with the project team.
 

Essential Skills:


  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in project management software for tracking schedules and documentation.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address project challenges and keep tasks on track.
  • Effective time management to handle multiple responsibilities and meet project deadlines.
